The Singapore Poetry Slam™ is an 'audience-centred' event designed to elicit vocal responses of all kinds as five judges selected at random from the audience score the poets between 1-10 with 50% based on the writing and 50% on the presentation.
The programme includes an open mic, occasional feature poets, and a three-round Slam competition on the top a floor each last Thurs of the month.
CASH PRIZE
1. Poets go head to head vying for Slam winner $50, runner up $25 for.
SLAM RULES:
1. You need 3 poems if you wish to enter the slam. If the judges like your poems you may progress through all three rounds and stand a chance of winning a prize.
2. Each poem should be 3 minutes only. After 3:10min, .5 of a point will be deducted for each 10 secs over the limit.
3. No use of props or animal acts, background music, or group performances unless specifically stipulated.

You get up to 3 mins to present.
MONTHLY SLAMS
We invite poets to write of various themes each month, although this is mainly a loose guide and not a necessity if you would like to perform in the Slam.
